Become a Member of the African Violet Council of Florida!

Being a member of AVCF is a rewarding experience & has many benefits. Chief among these, are the fellowship with other African Violet fanciers, information & knowledge exchange. Various types of memberships & some of their benefits are explained below.

All memberships run from January 1st through December 31st and annual dues are payable by March 1st. The membership form below is for ALL levels of membership.

Also note: a completed Membership form must accompany your payment of dues in order to receive access to the membership section of this website.

Membership Levels

The Levels of Membership

There are currently six (6) levels of membership and they are listed below:

Individual Subscription Member

$10.00

An Individual Subscription Member pays annual dues,

Receives quarterly newsletter, The Florida Connection, with
Educational articles by local growers
List of Affiliate activities
List of upcoming events in Florida & in the Nation, including Information about AVCF shows & conventions
List of sources for buying African violets & supplies and annual Directory
Can exhibit plants and designs in AVCF shows
Can sell plants & supplies in AVCF shows
Has voting rights

Individual Active Member

Is a person who is a Council member by virtue of membership in an affiliated club

Does not pay membership dues to the Council
Does not receive the quarterly newsletter or annual directory
Is not eligible to exhibit plants or designs in AVCF shows
Has no voting rights

Affiliated Club

$15.00

Must also be an affiliate of the African Violet Society of America, Inc.

Pays affiliate membership dues
Receives the quarterly newsletter and annual directory
An affiliate and its individual members have no voting rights
To exhibit in Council shows, members of an affiliate must be individual members of the Council

Commercial Member

$15.00

Are individuals or firms that advertise and sell African violets or related supplies, are licensed by the State of Florida and pay AVCF commercial membership dues. A Commercial Member in good standing may:

Advertise in the Council newsletter for a fee set by the Executive Board
Exhibit in Council shows, and
Sell at Council shows for a fee set by the Executive Board, if sales are permitted by the hosting venue

Honorary Members

A one (1) year honorary membership may be granted for outstanding service or as an award.
An Honorary Life membership (a) will be presented to the outgoing President and (b) upon the recommendation of the Executive Board, may be presented to any AVCF member in recognition of distinguished service.

Organization Membership

Open to libraries, botanical gardens and similar organizations

Members in this class have no voting rights
Members are not permitted to exhibit in or sell plants or supplies at Council shows
Members receive the quarterly newsletter
